Back to Blogging
Hello again. It's me, Carrie aka the zen quilter!
It’s been quite a while since my last blog. I think maybe I wrote after the election (which I still cannot talk about!) But I can't remember writing anything since then. So first, I apologize to those of you who actually read and followed my blog regularly. The truth is, I just gave up. It seemed like there were so many people out there who were just starting blogs and having so much more success than I, who had been blogging for years, that I got disheartened and busy and I just quit writing.
Also, I sort of lost my creative mojo for a while. I did make quite a few pieces last year, just not many compared to my usual productivity. I suppose I just needed a break from the constant urge to create. And again, if I’m being completely truthful (and I always try to be, no matter how painful) I got discouraged. I’ve been quilting for a long time now (fourteen years) and I’ve been designing my own stuff for quite a while, and well - I like my stuff! But sometimes it seems like I’m the only one. Which shouldn’t matter, I know. But it began to, so I lost heart.

I’m telling you all of this, because as I said when I started blogging in 2011 - the blog is an exploration of my creative journey. Discouragement, lack of motivation, feeling left out and unappreciated - I really think it’s just part of the whole process too. Actually I’m quite glad I took some time off from heavy making. I think I needed the rest, creatively.

So I’m going to try to get back in the blogging groove. I’m going to change it up a little, though. In the interest of keeping your interest - I’m going to try to refrain from my usual wordiness - more blogs, but shorter. Like before, I’m going to try to share my inspiration and processes and my projects with you. I hope you’ll come back and follow along.

Since we are all interested in visual arts, I've added a few photos of my current projects throughout the blog. Look for a blog about each on in the upcoming days. Man, it's great to be back!
Hope to see all of you around cyberspace soon.
