about me

I didn't know I had an artistic bone in my body until I turned 30 and had a baby. Apparently something opened up in me and suddenly, I couldn't stop creating - painting, writing, making...When I moved home to Texas from Northern California, my excellent mother introduced me to quilting. After the first make, I was obsessed. It wasn't until I attended my first International Quilt Festival in Houston that I realized I really wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Fifteen years later I'm designing my own quilts and still quite obsessed.
I'm a lucky girl. I live on a ranch in the middle of Texas with husband Paul, son Jonas, Wilbur - our golden retriever, our three cats, Angus and Albus and Cosmo, cows, goats, and various other critters and varmints
I have an infinite amount of patience with people, especially children, but my frustration tolerance basically sucks, hence the name zen quilter. I'm not there, but I strive for it every day, and most of the time have fun trying.

I love to laugh. I love people. I love words. I love nature. I love to hike. I love to read. I love to talk and I love to listen. I love music, all kinds. I love to meditate. I love color. I love modern. I love fabric. I love Mid-Century Modern. I love yoga.
Most of all, I love creating.
